Oakcrest School, an independent school guided by the teachings of the Catholic Church for girls in grades 6-12 in Vienna, VA, seeks a full time Instrumental Music Teacher and Musical Director for shows. Responsibilities may include:
6th grade Beginning Instrumental Music
Middle School Chamber Ensemble
Upper School Chamber Orchestra
Music Theory and AP Music Theory
Act as musical director for shows
Collaborate with the Visual and Performing Arts Department on different events.
Musical direction responsibilities include overseeing all aspects of the music including teaching, accompanying rehearsals, preparing and directing the performance ensemble, arranging music as needed, and overseeing the sound technology, as well as working in conjunction with the Theatre Director and production team in selecting appropriate shows and conducting auditions.

Bachelor’s degree in Music Education (Master’s preferred)
Minimum 3 years teaching experience
Experience with all levels of strings and winds methods/instrumental music at the middle school and upper school levels.
Experience directing musicals
Familiarity with sound technology
Strong piano and arranging skill
