The Executive Director will support the Chandler Children’s Choir Artistic and Administrative teams in achieving the mission of the Chandler Children’s Choir which is to provide high artistic music education to youth ages 7-17. This is a rewarding role that offers an opportunity to get involved in all facets of a non-profit music organization. Key responsibilities include collaborating with the Artistic Director in designing and executing the season’s activities, coordinating with the parent volunteer group, ensuring financial accuracy to invoicing and deposits, staffing concerts, and directing marketing activities.
ATTENDANCE: Attend regular Thursday rehearsals and events and assist parents, singers and staff in carrying out a successful program
FINANCE: Support invoicing, cash collection, and deposits. Ensure CCC funds are used in an appropriate and reasonable manner
COMMUNICATION: Attend weekly Tuesday staff meetings. Review weekly emails, provide formatting and review to pamphlets and documents. Prepare and present information to parents on program, season calendar, honor choirs, and tours.
LEADERSHIP: Provide leadership and coaching to administrative and volunteer staff. Address issues with parents, decisions on waiving late fees, discounts, etc. Ensure staff is trained and providing strong customer service.
TEMPO: Coordinate events with TEMPO leadership (parent volunteer group) and provide budget and guidance. Ensure uniform process is on track.
VENUES: Contract negotiation, booking, and equipment requirements for concerts, day camps, retreats, and rehearsals
STRATEGIC PLANNING: Partner with Artistic Director in brainstorming super cool events. Evaluating and modifying current program to adjust to changing needs and to grow program.
NON-PROFIT SUPPORT: Provide assistance on grant proposals where required
STAFFING: Ensure staff positions are filled, craft offer letters, gather legally required work documents (I-9, W-4, etc.)
Ability to partner and collaborate with other key employees, with ability to apply good judgment
Ability to interact effectively with employees, contractors, parents, and singers
Ability and flexibility to work on multiple projects
Ability to assess current processes and identify better solutions than supports the artistic objectives of the organization
Ability to clearly and succinctly present information to parents and employees
Computer and systems proficiencies - skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Power Point, Word, and Access)
Strong time management, organization and prioritization skills with comfort in being self-directed and leading team initiatives
Additional Salary Information: $12k-$18k annual
About Chandler Children's Choir
The Chandler Children's Choir is 501(c)3 non-profit organization located in Chandler, AZ and was founded in 2008. There are currently 4 treble choirs of youth ages 7-18 with about 140 singers. Regular rehearsals are weekly on Thursdays and are held in Tempe. A summer camp is held for one week in June. The choirs go on a tour once a year. There is also a neighborhood outreach program to provide afterschool choral education in a number of elementary schools. The Chandler Children's Choir strives to provide high artistic music education and performances for the community.
