The candidate should be a visionary, with high school teaching experience and a willingness to embrace a variety of musical genres and performance mediums, as well as being an extremely strong advocate for both the future of music education and the desire to train students to meet the unforeseen challenges in the vocation’s future. This individual should expect to become a part of the fabric of a wonderful, supportive faculty and arts community as well as continuing extremely unique partnerships with community organizations. Masters degree in music
3 yrs. High school teaching experience
Doctorate in music; ABD applicants also considered
Secondary area(s) of musical expertise.
Evidence of a strong commitment to music education
Demonstrated excellence in orchestral ensemble conducting at the collegiate level.
Professional performing experience as an instrumentalist. (strings preferred, others considered).
Experience recruiting students at the collegiate level.
