The purpose of the Director of Instrumental Music is to direct and manage the overall program of instrumental music at the school as well as provide guidance to music programs in Diocesan feeder schools.
Bachelor’s Degree in Music, Music Education, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred
Educational training and coursework, as well as prior high school teaching experience preferred
Ability to use musical notation software (e.g. Sibelius, Finale, etc.)
Ability to lift/manipulate heavy objects and equipment when required
Ability to work both indoors and outdoors
Ability to work with high pressure sound environments
Additional Salary Information: Salary is determined by degree and experience on the Bishop Gorman salary schedule; an additional stipend is available for the co-curricular parts of the position

Bishop Gorman High School was founded in 1954 by the Clerics of St. Viator and moved to a new campus in 2007. With an enrollment of about 1500 students Bishop Gorman is the oldest Catholic High School in Southern Nevada.
As a college preparatory school, Bishop Gorman has a 98% college bound rate. A variety of fine art classes are offered through our curriculum including ceramics, drawing, digital photography, guitar, orchestra, theatre, dance and much more. The Bishop Gorman thespians have been Theatre State Champions 7 years in a row and have won three national titles. There are many opportunities throughout the year to see our art students showcase their talents.
