The Anchorage School District anticipates up to three full-time openings for band teachers/directors for the 2021-22 school year. ASD is a district of over 45,000 students, with a full complement of music offerings. There are eight traditional high schools, eleven middle schools and sixty elementary schools. Minimum of a Bachelors Degree with Certification in Music. Alaska certification is often granted probationally if candidates have appropriate cert in another state. Good preparation in a college or university setting in music education with an emphasis in band.
