The Meridee Winters School of Music in Ardmore, PA is looking for an outgoing, enthusiastic and organized individual to help keep our community of teachers and students organized and growing.
Are you passionate about music, education and creativity? Are you looking for a change of scenery, but still want to be involved in education? Are you a friendly and organized individual who is known for being able to get a lot done – fast? Would you be excited to build relationships with families and teachers, arrange the puzzle pieces of student scheduling and work in an entrepreneurial woman-owned company? If so, then you might be a great fit as an administrator for our school’s “backstage” office team.
Our ideal new teammate would be gregarious, detail-oriented and energized by our musical and educational values. (Meridee was an elementary school teacher in the school system before she left role that to start this creative school. Our ideal candidate would also be an educator or music educator looking for a similar new career path!) This job could be a great match for a parent returning to the workforce, former educators/counselors or someone looking for an education-focused position in a place that makes a positive difference in the world.
Of note: This is a full time role that combines hours as an administrator in our bustling office with hours as a private music teacher. (We offer lessons in piano, voice, guitar, ukulele and more.) For those not interested in teaching music, it could instead be a part-time administrative-only position (20-30 hours).

About the role:
This admin role is a combination of air traffic controller, matchmaker (thoughtfully matching teachers and students), and graduate school administrator. You would be behind the scenes in a dynamic entrepreneurial setting working with and supporting our other backstage office team members.
Responsibilities include:
- Customer service/Speaking with parents about our school (and their goals and dreams for their kids)
- Crafting strategic and streamlined teacher schedules
- Processing bills and attendance
- Helping organize our shows and monthly teacher master classes. (A last minute kazoo-run isn’t unheard of.)

What we are looking for:

Hours, Schedule and Compensation:
- This role would regularly be 20-30 administrative hours per week year round, plus teaching hours in the afternoon.
- 4-6 administrative hours per day, M-F. (Exact hours and schedule are negotiable, and can be arranged upon hiring.)
- There would be required evening hours once a month for teacher workshops and occasional weekend shifts when we have shows.
- Our vacation breaks coincide with school winter and Thanksgiving breaks, and includes flex during spring break and a summer vacation week.
- As mentioned above, this could be combined with teaching hours to create a full-time position or a part-time administrative-only position.
- Compensation: $20-$25/hour, depending on experience
Our Location: Our Ardmore office is convenient to the Mainline - Bryn Mawr, Havertown, Haverford, Narberth, Bala Cynwyd, Wynnewood, Villanova, Radnor, King of Prussia, Conshohocken, Overbrook, and more.

Requirements:
- College degree, with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Experience, activities, or courses (in your adult years) in education and/or music
- 3 - 5 years (minimum) experience in a dynamic professional setting.
- Stand-out communication skills on the phone, in-person conversations and writing.
- Technology Literacy: Google Drive, database entry, experience with online platforms by computer and phone.
- Location: Lives nearby and has less than a 15-20 minute commute
