Principal Duties Purdue University’s Department of Bands and Orchestras is seeking a band director for an academic year appointment at the clinical assistant/associate professor level.  The successful candidate will serve as the head of the Purdue jazz band program.  This includes oversight of the entire Jazz Band program in the department, including full responsibility for the coordination of all jazz band courses and curriculum.  Full responsibility for the coordination of jazz band auditions throughout the academic year and in the summer. Additional summer responsibilities may include instruction with a summer jazz ensemble. Serve as a conductor of at least 3 jazz ensembles, during the fall and spring semesters.
